What is GOTAGS?

The Book and the Professional Development Program

GOTAGS is both a stand-alone book for independent reading and a professional development program involving both book and a workshop screencast for either independent or group use.

Both book and program provide teachers research-based and teacher-tested strategies for proactively beginning the school year in in ways that:

Getting Off to a Good Start The GOTAGS book is designed for easy access and application of ideas as teachers read through the manual and complete the twenty-plus activities and reflections along the way. The text culminates with a teacher’s developing a personalized plan for his or her own classroom for those first days of school. The Professional Development Program

Getting Off to a Good Start The GOTAGS screencast is designed to guide teachers step by step through the pages of the GOTAGS book. It allows teachers the experience of a workshop – without the cost of a workshop. A single teacher may add screencast access to a GOTAGS book purchase for a minimum cost and go through the materials at his or her own pace – an “independent study” in professional development read more. A school or school system purchasing 20 or more GOTAGS books receives two years of free screencast access for teachers equal to the number of books purchased read more.
